Game-inspired Narrative Design to Support Compassion Training with Virtual Patients
Miranda Verswijvelen is a senior learning designer with a passion for interactive stories, scenario-based learning and game design. In this capacity, she has worked in healthcare, corporate and academic settings, both in Belgium and New Zealand. She has over 15 years’ experience working on very diverse projects in digital learning and serious games. Recent projects include a visual novel on cyberbullying bystander behaviour for teens, an interactive story game for youth about emotional first aid and a story-based interactive video course for healthcare professionals on Effective stop smoking conversations with pregnant women. She currently combines freelance work with PhD research at the Department of Creative Technologies at Auckland University of Technology (New Zealand).
