Prior to his appointment at NCSU, Justin served as the lead Professor in William Peace University’s Simulation and Game Design program where he developed and taught curriculum centered around serious game design. His professional background includes working as a level designer at Icarus Studios, environment artist at Ubisoft-Redstorm, and lead artist on Fallen Earth. He has also worked for several entertainment based and serious game companies as a freelance artist and designer. He currently works as Product Developer at Logic Grip, an up and coming VR developer. Justin’s research focuses on VR games as a platform for mental restoration, more specifically how interactive virtual nature environments can provide mental health benefits to players.
