Biography

Tammie Schrader rolls out game-based science programs for 39 school districts in the State of Washington. She serves on the Science Assessment Leadership Team for the State. She is an advisor on science education and participated in the White House Game Jam in 2014. Schrader also works on National Science Foundation grant with Filament Games working on implementing educational video games in science classes. Before taking her present position, Tammie spent 15 years teaching science and technical education classes to middle school students. She also teaches science methods classes at Gonzaga University and Whitworth University. Schrader is Nationally Board Certified and was selected as a Hope Street Group Teacher Fellow in 2013 and a Department of Education Teacher Fellow from 2008 to 2009. Tammie holds degrees in biology and education, a masters in Teaching At Risk students, and is currently enrolled at Gonzaga University working on her doctorate in leadership and education.
