Biography

Steve Isaacs teaches game design and development and has developed nationally recognized program. His approach to teaching is that of facilitator and co-learner with his students. Steve incorporates a quest based learning environment that provides choice in the learning pathway chosen by his students. Steve is passionate about games and the intersection of games and learning. He has been very active in the game based learning community and presents at conferences around the country to share his work.

Recently, Steve has helped to form the Games4Ed initiative, a nonprofit organization working to reduce the barriers and demonstrate efficacy in terms of using games in the classroom. Steve leads the Pilot Program and Research group for G4E (http://www.games4ed.org). Steve is also the co-founder of #EdTechBridge, a community with a mission of bringing EdTech stakeholders (educators, developers, students, researchers) together to develop collaborative relationships in order to build better EdTech products to benefit education. #EdTechBridge hosts a weekly twitter chat on Wednesday nights at 7pm EST and a Slack community for persistent communication and collaboration.
